PADE (Puppetry Arts Digital Evolution) is a project that aims to increase access to digital tools, resources and skills for puppeteers, multidisciplinary artists and arts organizations. Through this national initiative, we will share, learn and plan how best to implement digital knowledge and tools into individual and joint digital discoverability, marketing, and strategic future plans.

Workshop 1 – Understanding the Digital Value Chain – 60 minutes

  • From digital creation, production, marketing, dissemination, presentation and archiving
  • Review tools and methods
  • Relate them to the opportunities stemming from new digital business models in the arts
  • Where to go for training and mentorship

Workshop 2 – What does a hybrid (digital – in person) business model look like – 75 min

  • Review business model canvas based on example of a typical bricks and mortar puppetry company
  • Review business model canvas of a new breed of performing arts company and arts festivals/presenters – hybrid model

Workshop 3 – Developing new Revenue streams – 75 min

  • Review new kinds of Canadian digital tools that enable new kinds of revenue streams for participants

    5. Other initiatives
  • How can organizations use these tools and how do they differ from existing dominant online players like YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Instagram and the like.
  • Ways to collaborate to optimize the new tools and build resilient organizations with access to more diversified revenue streams
