From Digital Maturity to Strategy

3-step process from digital maturity to digital needs and opportunities to digital strategy

Digital Maturity assess “what is.” The digital needs assessment and exploration of unrealized digital opportunities imagine “what should be” and “what could be.” The digital strategy phase presents the digital action plan within the framework of the organizational strategic plan or to meet organizational imperatives.

The digital action plan outlines

  1. The business goals and digital objectives
  2. Which digital technologies to adopt for which purpose, i.e. artistic, managerial, audience-facing
  3. Step-by-step implementation/action plan with timelines, budget, responsibility and accountability, including training requirements

In my work, I have adopted a three-step process to aid organizations in making sense of the digital world from digital maturity to strategy:

  1. Assessing and evaluation digital maturity
  2. Evaluating digital needs and opportunities
  3. Developing a digital action plan that delivers on organizations strategy and imperatives
